We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeler to join our team and help drive our Data Modernization efforts, including migrating from on-prem platforms like IBM Netezza to cloud-based solutions. As a Senior Data Modeler, you will combine your data modeling expertise with data engineering skills to design, implement, and manage high-quality data pipelines and models that will be crucial in transforming our data infrastructure.

**Responsibilities**:
**Data Modeling & Design**:
Design and build robust data models that support both transactional and analytical workloads, ensuring alignment with business needs.

Work with data architects and engineers to optimize data structures for storage and analysis in cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure).

**Metadata-Driven Data Pipelines**:
Develop and manage metadata-driven data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks/Spark, and Snowflake.

Evangelize and implement best practices for metadata management and ensure data pipelines are scalable and reusable.

**Data Ingestion & Quality**:
Create and maintain data ingestion, quality testing, and audit frameworks to ensure data integrity.

Automate and optimize data pipelines, ensuring timely data flow between systems.

**Collaboration & Mentorship**:
Collaborate with IT, development teams, and business users to understand requirements and deliver data models that meet the needs of various stakeholders.

Mentor junior data engineers and modelers, guiding them on design principles, troubleshooting, and best practices.

**Agile & DevOps**:
Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospective meetings.

Assist in implementing DevOps practices to support automated deployment of data pipelines.

**Data Integration & Analysis**:
Perform complex data analysis to answer business queries and ensure accurate reporting and data quality.

**Security & Governance**:
Adhere to and enforce industry-standard data security practices across all data pipelines and storage solutions.

Assist in maintaining a data governance framework to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.

**Documentation & Reporting**:
Document data models, technical data mappings, data flow diagrams, and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and traceability.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders and ensure alignment with business goals.

**Must-Have Skills**:

- Experience: 5+ years in data modeling, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines in cloud-based environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Azure, Databricks, Python, SQL, and Snowflake.
- Data Modeling Expertise: Proficient in creating data models for both transactional and analytical workloads. Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and normalization techniques.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Azure, specifically Azure Data Factory and Databricks/Spark for cloud-based data management and pipeline automation.
- SQL & Python: Expertise in SQL and Python for data wrangling, transformations, and integration tasks.
- Data Tools: Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with business and IT teams.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, capable of identifying and resolving data issues effectively.

Pay: $45.39-$63.23 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Expected start date: 2025-02-25
