**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Dynamic **Construction Estimator** with 5+ years experience to join our team. Reporting to the Principals, the Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing clear and competitive proposals to our clients in a timely manner.

Your key responsibilities will Include:

- Analyze documents, drawings, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing.
- Accuracy of bid cost to actual cost of work performed.
- Prepare presentations and present estimates to management and clients.
- Review project site prior to price preparation.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation to support estimate preparation and review estimate contingency and escalation costs.
- Actively participate in contingency discussions and recommendations
- Perform quantity take-off from construction drawings where applicable.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, compiling information into estimate.
- Formulate all costs for tender submission - labour, equipment, material, rentals, and subcontracts.
- Oversee the distribution of appropriate documentation appropriately upon award of project.
- Collaborate with operations to drive project success and learning.
- Assist with RFP’s and General Contract tender submissions.
- Assist with prequalification submissions, RFQ’s and RFI’s as required.
- Incorporate / comply with risk management policies and procedures.
- Protect all forms of proprietary information.
- Maintain estimating data systems to ensure they are kept up to date.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions.
- Organize sub-contractors' quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents, and issue properly documented purchase orders.
- Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify any potential risks.
- Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to the project.

**What You'll Bring...**

- Command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Proven organization and problem-solving skills
- A degree or diploma from a recognized engineering, architectural, or construction management program is an asset
- Have 5+ years of progressive Estimating, Project Coordination or Management experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 or more years client facing
- Can demonstrate knowledge and experience of the various disciplines involved with estimating, tendering, and managing projects.
- Have built or able to build a broad network of professional colleagues, subcontractors, and team members to effect competitive excellence, pride in teamwork and outstanding project delivery
- Proficient with MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the flexibility to learn new programs
- Available for fulltime schedule (40 hrs) with the flexibility to work varying hours if needed.
- Must live & reliably commute within Metro Vancouver lower mainland.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Coquitlam, BC V3K 7A1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
