VanWest College is currently seeking for an Activity Leader Assistant to provide support for our Summer Programs. The position is temporary and will begin on July 4th, lasting for a period of 6 weeks.

The job description for the Activity Leader Assistant position is as follows:

- Support the organizing, coordinating and delivery of programs, activities and events;
- Ensure all participants are safe and supervised at all times;
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Activity Leader and volunteers;
- Keep records that pertain to the administration of the excursions i.e. attendance, participant waivers, accident and incident reports, and daily activity schedule;
- Contribute to the integration and maintenance of care plans within the program;
- Support program, activity, and event set up/take down;
- Adhere and uphold to College policies, procedures and department processes;
- Ensure a safe and respectful environment for participants and staff;
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe, friendly and inclusive manner;
- Engage and build relationships with participants;
- Work effectively within the Activity Leader to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for participants with diverse needs to fully participate within the program;
- Help participants navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours;
- Report incidents and accidents through established policies, procedures and processes in consultation with the Activity Leader and the Activity Manager;
- Follow all VanWest policies and procedures;
- To be Professional (be on time, appropriately dressed, ensure confidentiality, etc.);
- Clear Criminal Record Search;
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
