**Summary**

The Actuarial Analyst performs mathematical calculations to provide basic actuarial and financial technical support for the functional area. The incumbent works within defined procedural constraints and under the moderate supervision of the Manager or Director of the area with actuarial responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**- Provides actuarial and financial modeling support to specific members of the functional area to assist in the achievement of goals, objectives, and efficient operations- Ensures the provision of accurate mathematical calculations- Develop and implement data reconciliations and mathematical calculations- Develop and distribute management information- Support and complete various research projects- Complete various industry surveys- Streamline current processes and create or update supporting documentation- Support analysis and interpretation of new industry / professional / regulatory guidelines- Support and develop IFRS 17 valuation models and processes

**Skills / Knowledge / Education**- Completion of a university degree with courses in mathematics, finance, economics and/or business- A related postgraduate degree is considered an asset- Experience in financial modeling or actuarial roles is an asset- Completion of a minimum of one exam through the Society of Actuaries- Ability to learn and become adept using actuarial software (e.g., Atlas, AXIS)- Advanced proficiency with various data and modeling platforms such as Excel / VBA, Power Query, SQL Server, Power BI, Matlab, R, Python etc. is an asset- Strong conceptual understanding and experience with stochastic modeling and economic scenario generation- Well-developed mathematical skills- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects- Ability to conduct in-depth research and analysis- Well-developed organizational skills- Clear writing and verbal communication skills- Attention to detail/accuracy

**Working Conditions**- Office environment- Prolonged periods of concentration and attention to detail- Prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer- May be required to work extended hours to support workflow/project requirements- Interactions:
