**SUMMARY**

Impact North Shore understands the importance of labour-market attachment for newcomers’ settlement and integration. The Employment Services Specialist is responsible for providing information through one-to-one counselling, referral, advocacy, supporting, and facilitating workshops and programs in the areas of employment to newcomers who are temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students, refugee claimants, and provincial nominees, as well as naturalized citizens. The goal is to connect newcomers to employment
- related resources, offer client-focused job search tools, build newcomer employability and facilitate integration into Canada's economy and labour force.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conducts needs assessments, develops employment services plans, and provides service bridging and referrals for eligible clients, as required
- Conducts outcomes measurement, program/service promotions, reporting, client feedback collection, and administrative tasks
- Stays updated on current labour market trends, employment issues, community resources, job training, and employment opportunities
- Stays updated on immigration regulations affecting the employment of newcomers to Canada
- Keeps informed of programs and services at Impact North Shore and sector-wide employment services, credentialing bodies, education institutions, employer networks, Chambers of Commerce
- Establishes partnerships with various stakeholders to connect with clients, facilitate referrals and employment opportunities
- Creates workshop content and facilitates workshops on topics such as professional development, career exploration, interview skills, and others based on client needs
- Delivers a variety of program workshops to enhance clients’ employability (i.e., job search skills, career exploration, life skills) using a variety of delivery methods, including online and in-person
- Ensures Employment Program Lead and Manager of Employment Services are aware of any significant concerns/client issues as quickly as possible
- Develops partnerships with service providers to effectively link clients with appropriate employment services (e.g., WorkBC, IECBC mentoring programs, Self-Employment programs)
- Attends and takes an active role in departmental, all-staff, and community meetings
- Ensures all required service data is correctly inputted into Impact North Shore’s databases; abides by privacy, confidentiality, and secure data storage guidelines; and swiftly responds to queries regarding service data quality
- Becomes familiar with Impact North Shore policies and procedures, programming objectives, client service philosophy, and clearly understands the role this position plays in achieving contractual goals and outcomes
- Provides first language services, as required, to enhance the client experience, including providing document translation support as required
- Ensure all necessary administrative tasks in relation to service are completed, ensuring all privacy and confidentiality requirements are met
- Performs all administrative tasks, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Employment Program Lead

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2-3 years’ experience in a direct client service role, preferably with newcomers, and understanding of the newcomer and refugee experience and settlement-integration stages/process
- Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Humanities, or Counselling or High School completion with a diploma or certificate in Community Development, Humanities, or Counselling and/or relevant experience
- Knowledge of Canadian
