Reporting to the OVOHT Primary Care Transformation Lead, the Primary Care Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of a regional primary care physician recruitment plan. The Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the recruitment and retention of primary care physicians across OVOHT region.

The Coordinator will establish and nurture relationships with key contacts and groups, including but not limited to residency programs at the University of Ottawa and Queens University, collaborate with other physician recruiters and groups in Renfrew County and South Algonquin; research and implement best practices and innovative approaches in physician recruitment; coordinate physician recruitment activities; develop and maintain a database of potential recruits; and, provide administrative support.

This is a contract opportunity until March 31, 2025

**Responsibilities**:

- Communicate and liaise with patients and collaborators, and support the work of the OVOHT Primary Care Physician Recruitment Working Group
- Research best practices in primary care physician recruitment and implement promising and innovative strategies
- Work in collaboration with key partners to conduct and coordinate physician recruitment activities, including visits, correspondence, follow-up, job fairs, etc.
- Primary contact for all OVOHT primary care recruitment related activities (i.e., medical schools, student placements, tours, etc.)
- Develop and implement a primary care physician recruitment sustainability plan
- Continuously analyze and evaluate physician recruitment strategies for effectiveness
- Provide administrative support to OVOHT Primary Care Physician Recruitment Working Group
- Work flexible, varying hours and willing to perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary education in marketing, public relations or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Knowledge of the medical education and health care systems
- Knowledge and experience in employment and contract negotiations (Asset: experience in recruiting physician, healthcare or agency recruiting)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Innovative thinker
- Experience in project management
- An understanding of job marketing and public relations principles.
- Ability to work independently, plan and coordinate assigned tasks, with minimum supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to achieve goals within specified timeframes.
- Knowledge of Renfrew County and South Algonquin and each community’s assets or willingness to learn
- Access to a personal vehicle and possession of a valid Ontario driver’s permit.
- Lives in Renfrew County and able to work within the physical demands of the work environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
