- **Wage**:_ Probationary wage is $19.12/hr, increased to $19.59 with benefits after promotion. Annual seniority salary/wage increase plus cost of living increase on Jan 1.

The current priorities laid out by ACORN’s leadership in BC are:

- Fighting Energy Poverty and Energy Inefficient rental housing
- Province-wide Anti-Tenant Displacement campaign
- Amend the RTA - Anti-Tenant Harassment Laws

**Job Summary**:The job of an ACORN organizer is a field organizing position, not a desk job. The job enables you to get active and get out in the communities we organize in. The organizers role is _to help manage our resurgence and expansion in BC and to help us win our_ _campaigns tackling energy poverty and climate justice in BC._

**Three main roles of the job**:

- **Outreach**: Door Knocking, Street Canvassing, Petitioning to bring new people into the organization and then linking them to the existing membership and campaigns.
- **Fundraising**:Maintain and grow ACORN’s existing base of monthly member dues and donations. Manage our medium and long term fundraising efforts from allied labour organizations and foundations.
- **Learn how to be a community organizer**: Full-time organizers will work with supervisors in ACORN’s National Office, and colleagues across the country, to learn the tried and true ACORN organizing model. Full-time organizers will be paid to travel to training and meetings.

We are looking for applicants to come on for a two-month paid training period, working from 2-8PM for a minimum of 4 days a week. You'll be hitting the doors engaging working-class people on our affordable energy and climate justice campaigns. Successful trainees keen to take on a larger role in the organization will be offered full-time positions as field organizers with BC ACORN.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $42,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
