**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Maintenance Support Services Manager, the Water & Wastewater Security & Contract Administrator is responsible for reviewing, amending and administering annual contracts for the Water & Wastewater Section.
**Education**:
- Post-secondary diploma in Engineering Technology Program.
- Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology Program is preferred.
**Knowledge**:
- 1 year project experience, preparing contracts and bid qualification documents or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent by the department.
- 2 years project experience or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge of provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, NSF Standards or equivalent
**Responsibilities**:
**Reviews, amends and administers annual contracts for the Water & Wastewater Section, including supervising student lawn maintenance activities.**:
- Prepares authorizations and approvals for contract and bid awards.
- Monitors and supervises maintenance projects within the water and wastewater section.
- Plans work order activities related to contracted services
- Audits and prepares amendments to the annual contracts for the water and wastewater section operations and maintenance departments, including contracts for chemicals, services and inspections.
- Maintains detailed daily work diary that will be retained for 5 years for reference in the event of litigation.
- Monitors expenditures, unit costs and productivity within the contract to meet pre-established standards and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Determines and assigns materials, equipment and tools that may be required for work assignments and ensures their return at the end of the day.
- Monitor repairs undertaken by contractors' employees.
- Approves weekly/monthly activity records consisting of labour, equipment and material charges.
- Prepares bi-weekly progress reports for Maintenance Support Services Manager, bringing to attention deficiencies, delays, design changes or substitution of components.
- Responds to emergencies, complaints and requests for service and takes necessary action.
- Prepares, in consultation with the Managers of Water or Wastewater Operations, contingency plans in event of adverse effect/incident as a result of work.
- Inspects the Automatic Vehicle Locator program (AVL) and generate reports for Managers for Security Incident Investigations.
**Ensures compliance with provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Region of Niagara’s Water and Wastewater Security Protocol and other applicable standards and regulations.**:
