**Job Description**:
MDRD Supervisor
Under supervision of the Manager, Perioperative Services, MDRD & ACT, the MDRD Supervisor leads and provides supervision to the MDRD Staff and plans and organizes the day to day function of the department. The MDRD Supervisor also assures the adherence of all standards and policies as set forth by Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the accrediting bodies for the purpose of licensure, regulation and accreditation. The MDRD Supervisor oversees and participates in the hiring, orientation, training and continued education of staff.
**Education**:
- CSAO or equivalent course in Sterile Processing Techniques
- Leadership/Management Courses an asset
- Diploma in Health Care Management preferred
- Member of CSAO
**Experience**:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Supervisor in a MDRD department
Competencies:
- Team oriented leader
- Effective and efficient communication skills; written and verbal in English
- Effective and efficient planning and organizing skills
- Familiar with CSAO guidelines, WHMIS; Employee & Patient Safety; IPAC; Emergency Codes; Quality Programs; Risk Management; Chemical & Dilution Rates; Product Research & Evaluation in MDRD department
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Familiar with payroll systems and staff scheduling
- Knowledge of labour relations
- Develop policies and procedures
- Knowledge of all aspects of the sterile processing of instruments
Hours of Work:
- 37.5 hours per week, on calls after hours
- Alternating weeks of day and evening shifts with 2nd Supervisor
