- The Lead, Digital Health is a transformational role that will drive the strategy, performance and support the introduction, development and adoption of health care technology that will enhance provider operations as well as improve patient care experiences and outcomes
- NB: Please be advised that the scope of this role is regional in nature and therefore, will focus on the pertinent region’s particular needs.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Lead and support digital health projects, initiatives and activities within Ontario Region and its respective subregions-
- Collaborate closely with other key stakeholders within Ontario Health Region, including relevant portfolios within Ontario Health, regional health service providers and OHTs, Ontario Health corporate portfolios, provincial delivery partners (e.g. Ontario MD) and the Ministry of Health (MOH).-
- Lead and support, the implementation of the provincial and regional digital health strategy aimed at transforming the health care system so that it is integrated, sustainable, and patient centered-
- Develop regular reports on progress of activities related to the design, implementation, and adoption of the digital health programs or solutions in the health care system that support the goals of regional OHTs and/or health service providers-
- Monitor the progress of adopted digital health activities within the Ontario region and facilitate the resolution of potential implementation issues related to schedule or specific tasks-
- Plan projects with significant stakeholder engagement-
- Ensure digital health projects are managed, coordinated, integrated and sustainable across the Ontario regionUnderstand Privacy and Security policies/procedures and work to align, resolve issues and participates in creating further innovations for the organization-
- Ensure supporting program and project data is kept current and accessible by the project team-
- Model exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with employees within their portfolio and across the organization to lead and coordinate health system planning, performance and funding-
- Manage, build and maintain relationships, and communicate with multiple stakeholders including vendors, provincial partners, Ontario Health colleagues, practitioners and health service providers-
- Identify champions and regional sponsors for the adoption of digital health solutions-
- Other duties as assignedHere is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- University degree in business administration, health administration, or a related field-
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience managing complex projects involving multiple agencies and stakeholders-
- Demonstrated understanding of current and future trends in digital health, health information management and health information technology systems-
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge within the digital health community in Ontario in a project management role, business development, health system planning and architecture, stakeholder engagement/facilitator, client service or a similar role-
- Previous knowledge and experience of the Ontario healthcare system including a working understanding of /or exposure to the Ontario community-
- Excellent ability to analyze and interpret complex information to deliver a solution that meets business needs including prioritization-
- Superior organizational skills and solid knowledge and experience in project management and quality improvement methodologyKnowledge and Skills- Excellent oral and written communication skills to help effectively translate evidence and performance data this data into status reports, project updates and communication materials for stakeholders-
- Strong facilitation skills and able to guide a group of stakeholders through a process in an efficient manner, staying on track and achieving predetermined goals-
- Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and presentation skills-
- Knowledge of associated software as well as the ability to understand and interpret performance data and evidence from a wide variety of sources-
- Not directly provided authority, this position requires a great deal of influencing others when negotiating, consensus building and direction setting, potentially for any electronic health system related initiative within the Ontario Health and associated Health Service Providers-
- Ability to work independently, functioning productively as part of a team is also required, either within the cluster or project working groups-
- Ability to identify and manage risks as well as demonstrated capacity to identify and respond quickly to issues as they arise-
- Demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities within tight timelines and prioritize emerging issues as needed-
- Ability to influence and manage a diverse range of stakeholders to drive initiatives forward.-
