**Job Posting**
Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the Supervisor is responsible for the delivery of payroll services to all HRM employees, including it's Associations, Boards and Commissions. This individual must coordinate the day-to-day activities of payroll, ensuring compliance with all legislative, collective agreements and policies governing payroll procedures. As well, the responsibility of this role is to ensure the timely and accurate submission and processing of bi-weekly payroll for 5000+ employees within a diverse environment, while working within extremely tight deadlines to ensure maximum productivity across the Municipality’s Business Units. The Supervisor, Payroll proactively identifies system, payroll and client issues and implements effective solutions. While providing guidance to the payroll support staff, the Supervisor Payroll executes a mentoring role to assist in the development of succession planning.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education and Experience**:
- Post secondary degree in Business or related field or suitable combination of formal education and experience including supervisory.
- A minimum five (5) years of broad payroll experience.
- PCP Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association.
**Technical/Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Knowledge of the human resources information system; HRM Policies and Procedures; Nova Scotia Labour Standards Code; Canada Pension Plan; Employment Insurance Act; Records Management; Customer Service Principles; Tax laws; Collective Agreements; HRDC and CRA Legislation.
- Proficiency and expertise in the use of current computer technology and related software (Outlook, Microsoft Office, SAP, Electronic Payment Manager).
Graduation from HRM’s Aspiring Leader’s Program is considered an asset, and completion of the program is equivalent to one year of leadership experience.
**Security Clearance Requirements**: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.

**WORK STATUS**: Permanent, full-time
**HOURS OF WORK**: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; overtime hours may be required. Flex options to work outside of these hours and hybrid may be available.
**SALARY**: NU05 on the non-union salary scale; $66,170 - $85,630.
**WORK LOCATION**: Alderney Gate, 40 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth, NS
