**Berwick on the Lake **retirement community is looking for a **Receptionist** who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. **Schedule**:
This position is casual and the hours will be as needed.

**Pay**:
Starting wage is **$26.06** per hour (includes provincial wage subsidy), **plus $1.00** evening shift or **$0.60** weekend shift differentials as applicable.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Office Manager, this position provides reception, switchboard and general office duties and maintains efficient operations of the front office. Responds to inquiries from residents, staff and the public in a polite and courteous manner. Provides administrative support to the General Manager and various department managers. Maintains resident files, processes resident move in/out documentation and maintains the resident billing system. Maintains BRIT transactions and petty cash fund. Manages all resident and company information in a confidential manner and in accordance with the freedom of information and protection of privacy act.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Proficient with MS Office programs (word, excel & outlook)
- A high level of skill and accuracy with data entry functions and reconciliation
- Demonstrates a commitment to providing the highest quality of customer service and hospitality
- Strong and adept communication and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality as required
- Self-motivated team player with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills with co-workers, seniors, and the general public
- Ability to effectively interact with various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident focused environment
- Friendly and professional demeanour in person or over the telephone
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines
- Flexibility and adaptability to change while dealing with constant interruptions
- Ability to work independently but understands the team aspect of shift exchange, communication, and 24/7 operations
- Sound judgment, the ability to remain calm and act quickly in an emergency situation
- Emergency Level I First Aid & CPR
- WHMIS

**Emergency Response Duties**:
Follows established policies and protocols to provide initial emergency response in the event of a power outage, earthquake, fire, silent fire drill or resident emergency. Assess situation, provides assistance where appropriate, and contacts medical personnel/911 when required.

Note: A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test also required, as well as proof of Covid-19 vaccination(s).
