POSITION OVERVIEW Small Gods Brewing Co. (SGB) is looking for a full-time, 6-month contracted, salaried Production & Distribution Team Member, with the possibility of extension or renewal as a permanent position at the end of the contract. The position is based at our brewery at 9835 Third St. in Sidney, BC. JOB DETAILS Title: Production & Distribution Team Member Location: Small Gods Brewing Co., 9835 Third St., Sidney Position Type: 1.0 FTE temporary, salaried position Days of Work: Mon-Fri (irregular shifts; some 12-hr days and some shorter days) Start Date: ASAP Wage: $42,500 STAFF PERKS - free shift meal in the brewery on shifts of 5.5+ hours - free post-shift draught beer in the brewery - discount on canned to-go beer - discount on merchandise OUR COMMITTMENT TO DEI ABOUT THE JOB The Production & Distribution Team Member (PDTM) works under the direction of the Heads of Production and Commercialization to assist in the packaging and distribution of product, as well as the cleaning, organization, and maintenance of the brewery, canning room, and warehouse and the equipment within those spaces. The PDTM may assist the Head of Commercialization in sales and marketing. The PDTM may assist the Head of Administration and the Taproom Team Lead in staff training to improve product knowledge and in helping the Taproom during rushes or emergencies. Production work is focused, detail-oriented, and somewhat self-directed. Your primary duties in Production will be focused on canning products, cleaning, and packaging. In this role, you will need to be mechanically inclined, dexterous, comfortable working with large equipment, and serious about safety. This position will give you the opportunity to develop excellent time management, communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills. You may also have the opportunity to learn about brewing techniques and processes. The PDTM will also assist with all aspects of distribution, including moving and warehousing product, preparing product for delivery, scheduling deliveries, and delivering products. You may also learn associated administrative tasks. As a knowledgeable employee on our small team, you will also be required at times to assist the Taproom Team by moving or changing kegs, providing information about new beers, pouring and running beer to customers during a rush, helping to tidy up the Taproom after a rush, and/or completing other tasks associated with operating a small craft brewery. You will be an important representative of Small Gods and therefore will need to conform to our "clean but casual" dress code and be friendly, kind, and easy-going. **Job Duties & Responsibilities**: - Maintain proper records based on daily duties in the brewery and warehouse - Setup and adjust machinery, preparatory to operation - Clean and operate the canning line and labeller - Check products to ensure conformance to company standards - Perform corrective canning line adjustments, as needed - Check product quality control by inspecting cans, bottles, and kegs for defects prior to product being delivered - Expand your MSDS knowledge to safely use chemicals - Develop your palate to perform a sensory analysis of beer and detect off-flavours and defects - Learn to clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment - Clean, sanitize, and fill kegs - Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained at all times - Assist with cellaring duties including CIP, purge, transfer, fining, carbonation, etc. - Perform general brewery cleaning including floors, drains, equipment, and production and storage spaces - Stock inventory, organize all spaces in the brewery and warehouse, and rotate stock as directed - Load, unload, transfer, transport, and store product - Assemble orders, construct pallets, and/or pack goods to be delivered - Plan delivery travel schedules and routes - Deliver product around the province over established routes - Review paperwork for errors - Learn the doorbell, delivery doors, and loading zones for 200+ wholesale customers - Safely drive beer as far as Campbell River and the Lower Mainland, making up to 40 stops/day - Follow all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and provide feedback during safety meetings - Properly dispose of product and waste materials within environmental standards - Deliver Marketing & Sales materials to valued customers - Provide superior customer service while interacting with wholesale accounts, remembering always that you are a representative of Small Gods Brewing Co. and should act with integrity - Liaise between customers and Heads of Commercialization and Production to confirm deliveries, to communicate errors, and to assist in monitoring invoicin
