Assistant General Manager

**Job Title**: Assistant General Manager - Limited Service Hotel

**Reports To**: Regional Operations Director and General Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at a limited-service hotel supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving profitability. The AGM plays a key role in managing staff, maintaining hotel standards, and achieving operational goals. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
## **Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Operational Management**:

- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and breakfast.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and hotel policies.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.

2. **Guest Experience**:

- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction by ensuring quality service and cleanliness.
- Train staff to deliver exceptional customer service and handle guest interactions effectively.
- Monitor online reviews and feedback to identify areas for improvement.

3. **Staff Management**:

- Assist in training, and supervising hotel staff.
- Schedule and assign duties to team members, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Foster a positive work environment and motivate staff to achieve performance goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed.

4. **Financial Management**:

- Support the General Manager in achieving revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor budgets, control expenses, and optimize operational costs.
- Assist in managing inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities for improvement.

5. **Sales and Marketing**:

- Collaborate with the General Manager to implement sales and marketing strategies.
- Promote the hotel to attract new guests and retain repeat customers.
- Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to drive group bookings.

6. **Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate records, including financial reports, employee files, and guest information.
- Prepare and submit reports to the General Manager or corporate office as required.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

7. **Emergency Response**:

- Act as the manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager.
- Handle emergencies, such as security incidents or maintenance issues, in a calm and effective manner.
## **Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- **Experience**: 2-3 years of experience in hotel operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- **Certifications**: Relevant certifications HOST and CRME are a plus.
## **Work Environment**:

- This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The AGM may need to be on-call to address operational issues or emergencies.
## **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
