**Job Purpose**:
The Housing First program, funded by Homeward Trust, is a twelve-month intensive case management program targeted towards individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness and have multiple barriers to permanent housing.

The Housing First Team Lead is responsible for supervising and supporting Housing Outreach Workers, Caseload Support, and Cultural Support in the department. The Housing Team Lead, collaboratively with the Housing Services Manager and other Housing Team Leads, will work in partnership with the Housing First Team, the landlord, and other agencies as necessary to ensure a coordination of services for housed participants.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Participate in hiring and provide ongoing support and supervision for staff.
- Work collaboratively with other Boyle Street managers and staff to ensure there is appropriate coordination among programs supporting community members.
- Work with the Housing Services Manager and colleagues to ensure all contractual obligations and practice standards are met.
- Support staff with case management and assessment to ensure required documentation is completed
- Ensure all data reporting is completed within required deadlines.
- Ensure Rental Assistance Payment (RAP) requests are submitted by staff to the funder in a timely manner.
- Track staff requests and monitor group expenditures in coordination with the Housing Services Manager.
- Maintain, delegate, and balance staff caseloads and responsibilities.
- Facilitate weekly case review meetings, and monthly team lead meeting with funder.
- Support partnership efforts with other agencies, including cross-agency case planning and participating in committees and events involving the funder and other agencies.
- Supervise and support practicum students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager

- Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).
- Ability to problem solve quickly, creatively, and ethically.
- Proven ability to work in a respectful and client centered manner.
- Mental and emotional resiliency is key
- Must have excellent boundaries
- Able to utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution skills in an appropriate manner.

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- At least one year experience in leading and building teams.
- At least two years’ experience delivering community-based services.
- Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural techniques.
- Experience networking with a range of partners and stakeholders and working at all levels across teams and/or departments within an organization.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of poverty-related issues, trends and services, including as it affects the urban Indigenous population.
- Local travel on behalf of clients and the agency is required; incumbent must have a valid class 5 license and reliable vehicle.
- Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case by case basis)
