**JOB OVERVIEW**

Jake’s house is looking for a strategic, mission-oriented, and seasoned leader who will serve as the Vice President of Operations, reporting to the COO. The VP, Operations will work closely with the team leaders who are responsible for the development, implementation, and management of our four core programs and many new projects and initiatives. The VP, Operations will primarily lead the finance, human resources, information technology and special projects for the organization.

Experience in or deep knowledge of, Ontario community housing services, stakeholder relations, charitable or non-profit organization management, government-funded organizations, service delivery programs, fundraising and working with volunteers are all assets.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Leadership & Team Management**
- Support the COO in fulfilling strategic and operational objectives.
- Provide leadership, direction, guidance and supervision to director and manager level employees at Jake’s House along with service partners and external vendors.
- Build and lead staff, setting clear objectives and outcomes aligned with strategic and operating plans.
- Be a highly visible leader committed to developing and growing the culture at Jake’s House
- Demonstrates effective delegation of staff responsibilities and a system of follow-up and accountability.
- Monitor staff performance and facilitate development, coaching and improvement.
- Provide strategic leadership and translate the Jake’s House vision into measurable goals and definitive actions that advance the mission of the organization and motivate employees.

**Strategic Direction**
- Work with the COO & CEO to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the strategic plan for the organization and ensure financial and human resources are available to support this plan.
- Foresee and identify potential risks, challenges, and changes in the short
- and long-term future and develop strategies for mitigating such risks.

**Operations, Finance & IT**
- Support the research, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services that are consistent with and promote the vision and goals of the CEO and Board.
- Assist in the development of budgets and management practices for each program.
- Collect and report all required municipal, provincial, and federal funding data in a timely manner.
- Oversee the acquisition and implementation of IT systems and devices as required and ensure information security and privacy as required by law.
- Oversee human resources management, ensuring a fair and transparent relationship with employees which is compliant with human rights, health and safety, labour, and employment standards legislation within the jurisdictions that Jake’s House serves.
- Develop and implement new programs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Continually enhances industry knowledge and expertise.

**Governance and Risk Management**
- Support the COO and CEO to ensure the organization is on track both operationally and per governance; operational policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the organization.
- Oversee that policies and procedures are current and complied with to ensure the safety of all Jake’s House participants, families, volunteers, and staff.
- Monitor organization program compliance and risk management.

**Government Funders & Stakeholder Relations**
- Build and nurture relationships with government funders, stakeholders, and service partners.
