**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
**Mechanical Fabrication & Assembly**
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly specifications
- Perform basic welding operations including MIG welding on steel and aluminum components as needed
- Fabricate and modify metal components using cutting, grinding, drilling, and machining operations
- Assemble mechanical equipment including servomechanisms, actuators, control linkages, brakes, and pneumatic systems
- Position, align, and secure components using precision measuring tools, fixtures, and mechanical fasteners
- Install bearings, bushings, seals, and other precision mechanical components

**Electrical Assembly & Wiring**
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable assembly drawings
- Perform point-to-point wiring and cable harness assembly according to specifications
- Assemble electronic devices and control panels from sub-assemblies and individual components
- Install and connect electrical components including motors, sensors, switches, and control devices
- Route and secure wiring harnesses using appropriate clamps, ties, and protective conduits
- Test electrical continuity and verify proper connections using multimeters and test equipment
- Solder electrical connections on circuit boards, terminals, and component leads using proper techniques (nice to have)

**Integration & System Assembly**
- Integrate electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies into complete electromechanical systems
- Connect control systems, power supplies, and interface modules to mechanical assemblies
- Perform system-level testing to verify proper electromechanical operation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during assembly and testing phases
- Calibrate and adjust systems to meet performance specifications
- Install and program basic control devices and operator interfaces

**Machining & Precision Work**
- Operate drill presses, grinders, and portable machining equipment for precision hole drilling, tapping, and surface finishing
- File, lap, grind, and machine parts to achieve precise fits and tolerances
- Align and adjust mechanical assemblies using dial indicators, levels, and precision measuring instruments
- Perform basic machining operations for component modification and fitting

**Quality Control & Testing**
- Inspect mechanical joints, electrical connections, and solder joints for quality and compliance
- Test completed assemblies for proper mechanical function, alignment, and electrical operation
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance, and proper grounding using electrical test equipment
- Conduct functional testing of electromechanical systems and document results
- Perform visual inspections and maintain quality records according to procedures

**Manufacturing Support**
- Install pneumatic and basic hydraulic components including cylinders, valves, and fittings
- Attach identification plates, labels, and documentation to completed assemblies
- Package and prepare assemblies for shipment using appropriate methods
- Maintain clean and organized work area following 5S principles and safety protocols
- Operate material handling equipment to position assemblies safely

**Required Qualifications**
**Documentation & Communication**
- Follow work instructions, assembly procedures, and safety protocols
- Document production time, inspection results, and work completed
- Communicate effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety meetings
- Maintain accurate records of electrical testing and calibration activities

**Education & Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-3 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, manufacturing, or related field
- Technical training in electronics, electrical systems, or mechanical assembly preferred
- Experience in manufacturing environment with both electrical and mechanical components
- Thorough understanding (through training and practical experience) of OHSA, workplace safety requirements, PPE usage, and safe operating practices

**Technical Skills**
- **Electrical Assembly**: Proficiency in soldering techniques, wire stripping, crimping, and electrical connections
- **Mechanical Assembly**: Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic machining operations
- **Welding Skills**: Basic MIG welding capability preferred (certification not required initially)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, continuity testers, insulation testers)
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices when working around high voltage and proper grounding techniques when working wi
