Cook / Eca-daycare

**East End Scholars is seeking to hire a cook. The cook must demonstrate skills in preparing food in a nutritious, good tasting and appealing manner.**

**In addition to the salary, employees are provided with medical benefits plan. When in program with children, will also be entitled to $2 Wage Enhancement.**

**Responsibilities-**
- **Prepare and serve healthy snacks and lunches**:

- **Follow proper food handling procedures**:

- **Prepare food according to the weekly menu**:

- **Knowledge of Allergies and dietary requirements**:

- **Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen
- follow proper sanitizing procedures**:

- **Weekly inventory and making procurement list**:

- **Maintaining records/receipts pertaining to the kitchen**:

- **Helping to care for children when required (when in program, will be entitled to Wage Enhancement)**:

- **Follow cleaning and sanitizing policies of the Hamilton Health Department**:

- **Removal of waste to the designated waste removal area**:

- **To have total responsibility of the kitchen, cleaning all of the equipment and appliances, take temperatures of the food, fridge and freezer and record these in the kitchen file**:

- **Proper clothing, shoes and hair restraints according to Public Health Standards and Childcare are to be worn daily**:

- **Other housekeeping duties like cleaning of the Centre -assigned by the Supervisor**

**Skills required**:

- **Be professional, polite and positive in all verbal and non-verbal interactions with staff, parents and children at all times**:

- **Have a friendly, flexible approach**:

- **Must possess personal qualifications as related to How Does Learning Happen and [CCEYA] Licensing Standards for Child Care Centers, and including: emotional maturity, willingness to cooperate with the aims of the Day care Centre, respect for children and adults from various cultures and backgrounds, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health that do not interfere with responsibilities**

**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Food Handling Certificate**
**- Police Check with vulnerable sector**
**- First-Aid and CPR Level C**
**- Updated medical including 2 Step T.B Test**
**- Experience working in a daycare Centre**
