The Transportation Planner will be responsible for the planning, development, and strategic implementation of an efficient multi-modal transportation system consistent with the Official Community Plan and Big Moves Climate Action Implementation Plan. Additional responsibilities will be to achieve transportation related goals by developing and implementing priorities related to active transportation and e-mobility as outlined in the Transportation Action Plan, Active Transportation Strategy, and Whistler EV strategy, lead, review and approve design layouts, safety improvements, traffic management measures for multi-modal traffic projects, lead traffic surveys and studies and manage traffic related projects. Interest groups and government engagement is critical to the position, as is collaboration with other municipal divisions and resort partners.

As a requirement of the position, the successful applicant must hold a valid BC class 5 driver’s license and must provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract prior to beginning employment.
