Yard & Tool Crib Attendant

**Job Summary**:
Whistler Welding Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fulfill the role of Yard & Tool crib attendant. This vital position supports our operations by ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, as well as maintaining and repairing small engines and equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming material orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Track material locations within the plant and yard, ensuring inventory is up-to-date for projects and shop needs.
- Assist in creating shipping manifests and documentation with the Office Administrator.
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of freight using forklifts, manlifts, or backhoes as needed.
- Maintain an organized yard and shop area, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and accessible.
- Check stock material for project requests and ensure timely availability.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and routine servicing on small engines, power tools, and equipment such as grinders, welders and vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment have necessary safety and operational equipment and are well-maintained.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Foreman.
- Order parts, perform repairs, and send equipment out for specialized repairs as needed.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and ensure safety standards are followed during all repair activities.
- Operate forklifts, manlifts, backhoes, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist in the organization of yard and shop equipment and materials.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain certifications including WHMIS, PPE, TDG, and pre-trip inspections.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment operation, small engine repair, or related fields.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certifications such as Forklift ticket, Manlift, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, and Safety Awareness are preferred; Whistler Welding Services will assist with maintaining these certifications as required.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Previous experience with power tools and equipment repair is required.

- Overtime hours may be required occasionally.
- A commitment to maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality is essential.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
