A full-time Building Operator is required for a small portfolio of commercial properties in Nova Scotia. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

- Day to Day general maintenance duties along with other day to day duties as assigned for the operation and maintenance of the portfolio of properties. Maintenance duties will include minor electrical/plumbing; visual checks of mechanical, life safety and other building systems; general property repairs; and other duties as needed.
- Work with the Property Managers to oversee preventative maintenance programs, building repairs, and the operation/maintenance of all building equipment and systems.
- Scheduled reporting of on-site conditions to Property Managers
- Supervise building trades / contractors; confirm that they are insured and have proper WSIB coverage; confirm that work is being completed in a first-class manner and to code in adherence to JOHS requirements.
- Assist the Property Managers to ensure that tenant needs are being met.
- Work with the Property Managers to coordinate and follow up on construction projects and tenant renovations.
- Respond to after-hours calls when needed.
- Effective communication to managers of issues/observations/etc.

**Experience required**:

- A valid Driver’s License.
- An aptitude and understanding of building operations systems including HVAC, life safety, electrical.
- Plumbing is an asset.
- Must be flexible in taking on the various duties on a day-to-day basis.
- Work independently.
- Boat License would be considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Pay: $22.00-$261.69 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
