Accounting Technician

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Technician to join our finance team. This non supervisory position reporting to the Controller will perform various accounting and other administrative duties pertaining to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger, Standard Costing, Inventory and Financial Reporting.

**Duties**
Accounts Receivable:

- Process all aspects of a computerized accounts receivable system including:

- Collection of overdue customer accounts
- Posting cash receipts data to customer files
- Monthly reconciliation
- Reconciling and producing customer account statements

Trade Accounts Payable:

- Process all aspects of a computerized accounts payable system including:

- Entering inventory receipts including follow up with suppliers regarding missing documentation, invoice discrepancies and receiving errors
- Verification of supplier invoices to purchase orders and packing slips - pricing, quantities and calculations

Inventory:

- Performing inventory cycle counts
- Assisting in maintenance of standard product costs and bills of material
- Performing inventory investigations throughout the year

Accounting:

- Under the direction of the Controller, preparation and entry of journal entries for G/L in IQMS
- Preparing and posting monthly bank reconciliations
- Assisting in preparation of monthly financial statements using IQMS and Spreadsheet Server
- Assisting in preparation of Annual budgets
- Prepares various reports for manufacturing, environmental and other departments as necessary.

Back Up for:

- Preparation of customer invoicing including submission to customer platforms
- Entering supplier invoices
- Production Reporting
- Entering supplier invoices into IQMS

General & Administrative:

- Maintenance of the General Accounting E-Mail ensuring information if forwarded to the correct contacts
- Closing/completion of Weekly Preventative Maintenance Work Orders in IQMS
- Supporting the administration of any affiliated companies or molding subcontractors, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, and annual inventory
- Reception Backup
- Mail Distribution
- Bank Deposits
- Assisting with Internal and External Audits
- Producing Excel graphs (based on production reports) for VP Manufacturing, Engineering & Quality
- Producing Excel graphs (based on environmental data) for QA/Environmental Manager
- Performing such other duties as may be assigned by supervision/management from time to time
- Maintaining workplace in a neat orderly manner
- Following all plant rules and regulations
- Working in a safe manner using all prescribed safety equipment and devices and eliminates and/or reports all safety hazards that may occur
- Ensuring that all requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed by yourself and those you may supervise or direct.

Job Qualifications:

- High school diploma
- Enrolment or completion of a recognized accounting/business degree or diploma program
- Experience with Word and Excel
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
