**Reports to: FRAFCA HR Manager**
**Job Type: Part-Time (4:00pm-8:00pm, Monday-Friday)**

**Wage: $25.00 per hour, fixed 20 hours per week**

The Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association is a non-profit organization that provides a diverse range of culturally safe and supportive services to Aboriginal people in Surrey and the Fraser Salish region. The Friendship Centre works from a decolonizing perspective, and as such, works to strengthen family bonds between generations and within the family.

**Your Duties**:
As the**_ Janitorial Cleaner_**, the duties will include:

- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them;
- Gather and empty trash and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary (Offices and common areas);
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms;
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees;
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment;
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications;
- Proper labelling, dilution and use of all chemicals;
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets (as requested);
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures;
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies with the support of FRAFCA staff as requested;
- Clear debris from grounds;
- Notify the FRAFCA Whalley office managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems;
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas and spread snow melting chemicals;
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties;
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation Other routine duties as assigned;
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning services preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and reliable

**Working Conditions**:

- This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, mostly indoor but an occasional outdoor setting.
- The janitorial cleaner may be exposed to cleaning chemicals; hence, must have an understanding follow safety protocols and follow them promptly
