Accounts Receivable/payable Coordinator

Marshall Canada is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Payable Coordinator in Ottawa, ON to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position will assist the finance team with managing financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation to ensure transactions are processed in a timely manner and records are accurate.
Your responsibilities in this role:
- Complete accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and ensure these activities occur within acceptable timelines.
- Posting month-end accruals.
- Providing support to the broader accounting and finance team, as required.
- Assist with the reconciliation of sub-leger accounts.
- Prepare monthly journal entries.
- Process employee travel and expense claims.
- Monitor accounts for non-payments and delayed payments.
- Prepare and process cheques and electronic payments.
- Resolve transaction discrepancies, as required.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure the effective resolution of any AP/AR issues.
- Ensure financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- Prior experience as an accounts payable clerk (or similar) preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to details and the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences: fluent written and oral English is mandatory.
Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
