Qet Case Worker

**PURPOSE**:Reporting to the QET Coordinator, the purpose of the Quw'utsun Employment and Training (QET) Case Worker is to provide administrative and case management support to the program, including educational and vocational support to community members. This position is a full-time term position and works primarily in the office with mínimal local travel required.
**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**:The position includes paid training, paid vacation and paid sick leave. Depending on experience, the position starts at $28.60 - $30.32 per hour ($52,045.49 - $55,187.23 annually).
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Provide Administrative Support to the Program**
- Enter client data in TIFIS for reporting and payment needs
- Order and pick up office supplies as needed
- Draft and prepare a variety of documents as needed, such as posters, newsletter inserts, reports, and correspondence
- Manage program phone calls to answer, screen, and transfer calls as needed
- Ensure all program forms are readily available for clients
- Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
- Ensure compliance of the program with all internal and external policies and procedures
- Other related duties as required
**Provide Educational and Vocational Support to Clients**
- Provide information on academic and vocational programs and courses to clients
- Provide basic individual career counselling, and strategies to clients to achieve their goals
- Liaise with a variety of institutions and departments to offer programs and training to clients
- Refer clients to internal and external resources as needed
- Ensure compliance of the program with all internal and external policies and procedures
- Communicate current employment and training opportunities to clients
- Other related duties as required
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:_**(please attach all required documents)**_
- Post-Secondary Bachelor's Degree in social services or a related field required
- 1 year administrative and case management experience required
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers' License, Clean Driver's Abstract and reliable vehicle required
- Certified Career Development Practitioner preferred
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Provide information on academic and vocational programs and courses to clients
- Provide basic individual career counselling, and strategies to clients to achieve their goals
- Liaise with a variety of institutions and departments to offer programs and training to clients
- Refer clients to internal and external resources as needed

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:
- Knowledge of internal and external applicable community resources
- Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other related software
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to learn new computer programs and software
- Time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize deliverables
- Knowledge of Cowichan culture, customs, traditions and the Hul'q'umi'num' language or a willingness to learn
