**Job Summary**: Responsible for the purchase of production materials, operating supplies, manufacturing equipment and services as well as issues related to the purchase such as duties, legal obligation and import/export requirements.
**Required Education and Experience**:
- BA or BS in Purchasing Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Planning or a related field.
- Certified Professional Purchaser, or minimum 5 years direct technical and commercial purchasing experience,
specializing in automotive manufacturing.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- High level of time management and mathematical skills
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills/ excellent customer service skills
***Essential Functions**:
- Negotiate favourable contracts and manage all purchases of raw materials, components, and outside services Advanced
& Awarded programs
- Achieve commercial contract targets (payment terms, EDI, etc.
- Manage Strategic Sourcing process, Approve Req's, Create PO's according to P&P
- Attend APQP meetings and ensure timely PPAP
- Resale Steel Management (Metallics) Audit resale steel price to quoted steel price and size annually
- Support locating materials and supplier escalations in shortage situations
- Identify and lead CI activities and cost reduction activities
- Achieve minority spend goal
- Commercial Lead with Suppliers
- Abide by all Company policies including but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental
Systems, Human Resources polices, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
- Competency Level 3 includes all advanced understanding of the processes and functions as they relate to the position as
determined by the leadership team
- Process Owner for Purchasing.
**Working Conditions**:
- Both office setting and production environment (PPE required)
- Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
- Overtime as required
**Physical Demands**:
- Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
- Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis
**Health and Safety**:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
**Other Duties**:
- Perform other duties as required.
