**Job Summary**: Provide direction to operators and press room employees, ensuring that safety, quality and quantity standards are maintained

**Required Education and Experience**:

- Grade 12 Diploma
- 3-5 years' experience in press room environment
- 1-2 years supervisory experience

**Essential Functions**:

- Leads the activities of the assigned work cell(s) personnel including manpower assignments, identifying overtime requirements and bringing them to the Production Coordinator's attention, issuing and administering disciplinary action if required, completing annual(bi-annual) performance appraisals and providing feedback, and various other company related documents.
- Communicates with the production coordinator all abnormal occurrences throughout the shift.
- Works closely with the maintenance department personnel to minimize machine downtime by identifying root cause, insuring timelines of repair operation, coordinating necessary departmental support and following up on countermeasures to avoid future breakdowns.
- Promotes a positive labor relations climate and teamwork throughout the company.
- Ensures assigned work cell(s) daily productivity targets: Performance to Schedule, Efficiency, and Run to Rate, Production Hours, and Set-up VS. Standard, Workplace Organization are achieved including monitoring actual performance against established goals and initiates actions to correct any negative variances from the goal.
- Ensure all operators are running at the required SPM as per the PIS book. Challenge any SPM that seems low and update the PIS accordingly.
- Verifies production sheets match CMS reporting at the end of each shift prior to leaving. Report any issues outside of a standard pack, investigate and correct all issues.
- Knowledgeable and in constant review of Customer Specific Requirement as applicable
- Review schedule and verify steel, and die status of all jobs, prior to job being s/u.
- Participates as a member of the Plant Operations Team. Reviews the summary report(s) and corrective actions taken with the Plant Operations Team. Inputs daily production counts and distributes reports to all required departments. Manages to End of Shift Report data.
- Identifies training requirements for assigned work cell(s) personnel, sets schedule and provides resources to conduct training in conjunction with Human Resources to insure a flexible work force is in place. Maintains skills tracking matrix for assigned work cell(s) personnel.
- Knowledge and in constant review of Customer Specific Requirement as applicable.
- Participate and bring forward and C.I. ideas for the assigned areas.
- Maintains safe working environment including completion of accident investigation reports, Completing Safety Audits, workplace Organization Audits, Assures proper utilization of personal protective equipment, and compliance with company safety rules and procedures.
- Ensures all assigned work cell(s) procedures, work instructions, worksheets and SPC charts are up to date and are being followed and utilized properly as described in said procedures as applicable.
- Physically, look at the quality of each job running, once per hour.
- Reviews quality data and provides interpretation to quality standards when required.
- Maintains a clean and organized work cell environment, including removal of garbage under the mandrels, chalks put away, bolsters cleaned, and when permitted, dies washed, etc.
- Responsible for the condition of all company property and equipment. Reports any miss use and abuse of the company property and equipment by completing incident reports and administering disciplinary action as required.
- Be fully involved in QDC, including charting and verifying PFC and participating in line side board meetings daily.
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
