**Job Description**:
Giant Tiger is looking to hire an Inventory Accounting Analyst The incumbent will support the Inventory/Accounts Receivable Group Manager, playing a critical role by providing key financial information, maintaining financial controls, and ensuring compliance with company policy related to Inventory. This role is a hybrid work model with the need to come onsite to the Ottawa Home Office 1-2 times/week.

Inventory Accounting Analyst, Role Specific Accountabilities:

- Prepare and review month end close journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations related to inventory and margin in Giant Tiger Stores and Warehouses
- Produce various monthly reports related to inventory such as net realizable value, shrink, GTW Sales
- Prepare GTW Margin Performance reports with commentary for Grocery, Hardgoods, and Softgoods
- Identify Inventory Stock Ledger system issues and actively work with the Information Service and Buying teams to resolve
- Prepare and produce financial information for the year end audit
- Implement Inventory/Margin test cases to ensure system changes and enhancements are designed as intended
- Resolve problems impacting cost and margins in Stores and Distribution Centers
- Execute ad hoc requests
- Prepare information for governmental entities
- University degree in Accounting/Business
- 3+ years of inventory accounting department experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Access
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Experience developing relationships with departments outside Finance
- Ability to speak/read/ write French is an asset
- Experience working in a large organization with many locations
- Excellent time management skills
- Enrolled in CPA Program or CPA designation is an asset
