**About Artisan Metal Finishing**

Artisan Metal Finishing is a fast-paced, high-performance job shop serving the automotive, aerospace, military, and industrial sectors with precision metal finishing services including zinc plating, nickel-chrome, phosphating, and zinc-flake coatings. Our team takes pride in delivering critical surface finishing solutions that meet exacting standards, every time. We believe in operational excellence, team accountability, and creating a safe, efficient environment where skilled tradespeople can take ownership and make a difference.

**Position Summary**

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in keeping our production facility running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll follow structured preventive maintenance programs while also responding quickly to equipment failures and breakdowns.

This is a hands-on, plant-floor-based role where you’ll be responsible for electrical troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, facility upkeep, and supporting our rack maintenance program. You’ll work independently at times, but always as part of a collaborative operations team focused on reducing downtime and driving performance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Follow detailed PM schedules for plating lines, pumps, motors, heaters, hoists, and other production equipment.
- Rapidly respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime. Includes electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Straighten, weld, and maintain plating racks to meet production and quality standards.
- Assist with installation of new equipment, modifications to existing infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized maintenance area. Follow all health and safety protocols when working around chemicals, elevated platforms, and energized systems. PPE provided.
- Complete maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair records accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with production, quality, and management teams. Know when to escalate issues or halt unsafe production.

**What We’re Looking For**

**Must-Have Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in an industrial maintenance setting
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (motor control, relays, circuits, sensors, heaters, etc.)
- Basic welding and fabrication ability (MIG preferred)
- Experience working with industrial equipment in a manufacturing or metal finishing environment
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Millwright or Electrical Certification (Apprentice or Licensed) an asset but not required
- Knowledge of plating equipment, chemical processes, or overhead hoist systems
- Familiarity with Lean or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices
- Forklift license or scissor lift experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

- Casual dress
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
