The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Redevelopment is officially underway. Modern Niagara was awarded the mechanical design-build subcontract for the project. Duties and Responsibilities: - Supervise and coordinate daily activities of sheet metal crews to ensure work is completed safely, on time and to quality standards - Monitor material usage and inventory, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling of components - Conduct regular site inspections to verify project timelines, safety and installation standards - Collaborate with project mangers, design and other trades to resolve technical issues and maintain workflow - Train and monitor team members - Prepare and maintain accurate progress reports and flag any issues impacting schedules and/or budgets Must haves: - 3-5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal General Foreperson or equivalent leadership role - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Proven ability to plan, schedule, and drive project execution - Highly skilled at reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications - A customer-first mindset, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities - Experience in commercial, institutional, and healthcare construction projects - Knowledge of HVAC, ductwork systems, and sheet metal installation standards Nice to haves: - Local 409 membership — if you’re not currently a member, we can assist with the process - Experience with healthcare ventilations requirements Modern Niagara values passion, initiative, determination, professionalism, and teamwork and we are committed to ensuring that our teams have everything they need to succeed.
