Artistree-MississaugaThe Production Operator utilizes a variety of equipment and machines to produce high quality custom framing products for our customers while following safety rules, meeting productivity standards and achieving attendance requirements.Major ActivitiesMachine OperationOperates Saw, Router, Joiner, and/or Mat Cutter according to proceduresCross-trains on all machines to be fully versatile in all aspects of machine operationsCuts, fits, assembles, packages, and ships frame/mat fillet ordersCross-trains and at times, work in Picking and FilletEnters order information in computer systemCleans equipment as required to ensure safety and accuracyPerforms required maintenance; replaces worn parts (blades, bits, etc.) as appropriate and requiredProduct QualityCalibrates equipment as appropriate to produce high quality materialsMeets or exceeds quality standards set by managementAlerts management of machine issues that may affect qualityPerforms inspection of work completed for visible defects or quality issuesCompletes re-cuts or re-work immediatelySafety & OrganizationMaintains a clean work area for safe and efficient operationInspects equipment to ensure safe operationsFollows all safety requirements for machine operationsWears appropriate safety equipment at all timesMinimum EducationHigh School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experienceMinimum Type of experience the job requires1 year experience in manufacturing or equipment maintenanceOtherDemonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluentlyVerbal and numerical intelligenceAccurately read a tape measure and rulerAccurately read and match number sequencesDifferentiate between quality cuts, join, and colorPhysical RequirementsConstantly stand and frequently walk, and constantly use foot controlsFrequently bend from the waist and twistConstantly lift up to 30lbs/13.6kgs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs/23.6kgs from floor to overheadOccasionally reach horizontally and overheadConstantly push/pull total body from the floor to overhead and constantly reach horizontallyFeel with the touch of the fingersConstantly grasp, carry, and push with both handsConstantly move arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objectsReview the physical requirements matrix for all requirementsWork EnvironmentHigh noise levels and moving machineryWork environment is not climate-controlled and subject to dust and high/low temperaturesApplicants in Canada must satisfy federal, provincial, and local legal requirements of the job.
