Emterra is proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, a certified diverse supplier of the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) and the Canadian Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBE).Job SummaryAs a Scale Operator at the Abbotsford Mission Recycling Depot, you will be responsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound materials, assisting customers, and supporting safe and efficient depot operations. This role combines hands-on work with customer service and administrative tasks to ensure the facility operates smoothly and effectively.Position DescriptionGreet drivers and customers, directing them to the appropriate loading dock or tipping area.Accurately weigh inbound and outbound materials and record data as required.Enter all purchase and sale tickets accurately into the computerized scale system.Inspect recyclable materials to ensure they are safe and free of banned items.Coordinate with internal and external customers to manage receiving and shipping schedules, ensuring all documentation is accurate.Communicate effectively and professionally via email and telephoneEnsure that customers and employees follow safety protocols and wear all required personal protective equipment.Skills & QualificationsGrade 12 diploma or GED equivalencyAbility to speak, read, and write in EnglishPrevious experience operating a scale is an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)Experience in the waste management or recycling industry preferredStrong customer service orientationAvailability for overtime as neededReasons to Apply, Stay and Grow with Emterra GroupOpportunity to be part of one of Canada’s Greenest EmployersCompetitive wagesComprehensive health benefits (health, dental, and more depending on what you choose)Employee Assistance Program, paid for by the companyBe part of an entrepreneurial organization that wants to continue to learn and growAbility to have an impact and make a change Are you ready to jumpstart your career by joining one of Canada’s Greenest Employers and become part of the environmental solution?
