The Residence Coordinator plays a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of one or more SHSS staffed homes, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care for children and youth with complex needs. The role includes frontline staff supervision, implementation of SHSS Service Plans, coordination of household needs, and support for documentation and licensing compliance. The Residence Coordinator promotes a safe, inclusive, and structured care environment that aligns with Pacific Coast’s values and the SHSS service model. REPORTS TO:   Program Manager, Children’s Services Location:  Abbotsford, BC (Travel required) KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:                Program Implementation & Oversight  Support and guide front-line staff in delivering care as outlined in the SHSS Service Plans Monitor day-to-day routines, schedules, and the care environment to ensure consistency and structure. Promote trauma-informed and culturally safe practices. Staff Supervision & Team Leadership  Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to front-line staff. Create and manage staff schedules, shift coverage, and ensuring 24/7 support. Participate in onboarding, orientation, and informal performance feedback. Respond to urgent incidents and behavioral escalations; lead debriefs and reviews Care Setting Readiness & Safety  Ensure cleanliness, safety, and regulatory standards are maintained across all assigned homes. Report maintenance and supply needs. Monitor implementation of health and safety protocols (WorkSafeBC, OHS, emergency drills). Documentation & Compliance  Oversee daily documentation (logbooks, medication records, CIRS, etc.) to ensure quality and consistency. Support staff to complete documentation accurately and timely. Maintain inventory and petty cash records.  Collaboration & Communication Act as a liaison between front-line staff and the Program Manager. Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and case reviews. Support children and youth in appointments or community inclusion activities as needed. This role is essential in ensuring quality day-to-day care in staffed homes and supports the delivery of consistent, child-centered services aligned with the SHSS framework.  What you bring Experience in a healthcare setting as a Licenced Practical Nurse (LPN) or recent graduation from a nursing program with a multidisciplinary approach.* A degree in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field with educational preparation A degree or diploma in a relevant field within human or social services. A minimum of 3 years of related experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or administrative role (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience). Specialized training in behaviour modification, support for children under 12 with diverse needs, attachment-based parenting approaches, and relationship-focused interventions. Knowledge and practice of trauma-informed care and culturally safe service delivery. Must be willing to undergo a Criminal Record Check and attain clearance. Valid first-aid and CPR certification. Unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s license. If driving a commercial company vehicle, a Class 4 license is required. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other staff, professionals and families. Ability to critically self-evaluate own performance. Any qualifications or skills required of the Licensing Officer or the funding body.
