Responsibilities • Collect concrete and aggregate samples from various production plants/job sites and deliver them to labs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI• Record, analyze and maintain a database of test results and prepare summaries of findings• Report collected data verbally and/or in writing to management and operations in a timely manner• Perform routine testing of standard mixes and perform/test trial mixes for special placements or performance specifications• Conduct routine sampling of stockpiles• Evaluate new materials and admixtures• Provide operational relief duties at various (plant / site) and assist manager with customer service • Proactively suggest improvements to current processes• Learn concrete batching, dispatching, and quality control software (specifically used to analyze mix designs)• Perform Surface/Ground Water Sampling at OSCO’s plants within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI • Assist with special projects as required • Additional duties as assignedTechnical Requirements • Successful completion of Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent technical training• 1-3 years of related experience (preferably within the concrete industry) would be considered an asset • Previous experience in concrete and aggregate testing within a lab settingBusiness Requirements• Experience using MS office programs• Desire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment• Be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and proceduresCultural Requirements• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of diverse backgrounds & disciplines, including various levels of management• A team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others to improve existing processes As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Bedford Ready Mix offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
