Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Program Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in an acute care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides. About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Masters's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited universityMembership with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy (Provincial licensing body)Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS)Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are requiredCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursLong Assignment, Full-Time; 75 hours bi-weeklyApproximately 12 month term; Dates are subject to changeCompensation and Benefits$38.43 - $50.99 HourlySuccessful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
