Job Title: Temp Payroll Analyst - 2 month contractReports To: Manager, Payroll; Payroll Team LeadLocation: Burnaby, BC V5C 6S7Salary: $28.84–$33.65/hr (60-70k Annual) Job Overview:Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, this individual will play a vital part in collaboratively processing payroll for over 3,000 employees across Canada in a timely and accurate fashion. The person we are looking for is proactive, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working with numbers and a payroll team committed to technical excellence, accuracy, and customer service.Requirements- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate (PCP)- Minimum of 2 years of Canadian payroll experience (multi-province experience is an asset)- Must have experience with ADP- Customer-focused attitude- Strong multitasker with high attention to detail- Up-to-date knowledge of current Employment Standards- Team player striving for excellence- Solid knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)Responsibilities and Duties:Administer and process bi-weekly payroll for salary, hourly, and temporary employeesProcess new hire onboarding and offboarding through the payroll systemProcess pay adjustments, retroactive payments, and vacation calculations accordinglyReconcile the company’s timesheet system, including adjusting leave entitlements and time entry errorsRespond to inquiries surrounding payroll and benefits from managers and employees, escalating issues when necessaryCollaborate with payroll team on complex payroll matters or issuesConduct account analysis and reconciliations on taxable benefits, vacation entitlements, employee benefits, and CPP/EI/Income Tax deductionsReconcile government accountsCalculate, complete, and balance all transactions related to third-party payments, garnishments, and income taxes to meet regulatory compliance and accounting requirementsMaintain payroll-related data files including electronic files, offer letters, and onboarding formsKeep up to date on latest government rules and regulations on payroll source deductions, remittances, taxable benefits, workers’ compensation, and employment standardsMaintain year-end reconciliations and update year-end adjustmentsGenerate and process statutory government filings such as T4s and ROEs in an accurate and timely mannerConduct monthly and quarterly payroll audits to ensure employee and payroll data accuracyConduct ad-hoc reports for Senior Management, HR, and FinanceAny other duties as assigned by your leader or executiveDisclaimer: This is currently for an active job opportunity.
