Our client, a leading manufacturer of metal processing for a variety of Industries, including Construction and Automotive to name a few, located in the Windsor area is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Supervisor (Afternoons) for their production facility. The Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities are as follows: Job Responsibilities:Leadership, Management and Team Building:Lead the shift and accomplish the required plant maintenance by directly supervising the coworkers in the maintenance department. Work cross-functionally amongst peers and across departments to achieve targets & objectives.Lead and support continuous improvement and 6S initiatives within the organization.Ensure people are trained and competent, and equipment is in good orderMotivate people to achieve objectives through communication and feedbackMaintain the workflow by monitoring steps of the whole process, monitoring resources and personnelEnsure people are trained, competent, and equipment is in good orderImplement continuous improvement of workplace culture through coaching team members, developing mutual respect, teamwork, and supporting coworkers to maximize their potentialAssist in ensuring all of LAK (other shifts and departments) are successfulEmployee Health and Safety:Maintain a safe and organized work environment by maintaining compliance with established policies and proceduresEnsure that all team members abide by all health and safety policies and proceduresTake immediate action as required when an unsafe situation arisesEncourage people to report all incidents and near misses in a timely manner so that proper measures can be takenOperations Administration:Responsible for accurate reporting in maintenance activities, daily shift reports, weekly overtime, time and attendance.Make recommendations to improve the plant maintenance programs, equipment uptime, department efficiency and equipment performance. Analyze production reports and preventative maintenance programs to plan and assign work for maintenance coworkers to address production needs as efficiently as possible.Establish and meet annual goals in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager.Motivate people to achieve objectives through communication and feedbackSkills Required:Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building qualitiesDemonstrated ability to lead, communicate, present information, influence others and build credibility at all levels of the organizationAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings, procedures and specificationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manualsMinimum five years of related leadership experience in a maintenance environmentWorking Hours:Ability to work afternoon/night shift schedule (Monday to Friday) for 9 hour shiftsSupplemental Pay Types:Bonus payOvertime payExperience/ Educational Qualification Required:AEC/ DEP or Skilled Trade CertificatePrevious extrusion industry background will be preferredMinimum 3 years of supervisory role in manufacturing environmentBenefits:Company pensionDental careEmployee assistance programExtended healthcareLife insuranceVision care
