We are looking for a Regional Specialist - Compliance to join our team in our Montreal office The Regional Compliance Specialist is responsible for the oversight of compliance for the region and acts as the resource person regarding regulatory and compliance matters. If you are career-minded and looking for a dynamic work environment with a growth mindset, you will love working among our team Your Day as a Regional Specialist – Compliance Address issues and questions raised by various stakeholders. Perform complex monthly client file reviews and present audit findings and addendum reports following a set format to the appropriate internal stakeholders. Coordination of audits with the National Compliance Auditor, validation of results, and preparation of the quarterly presentation of audit findings. Conduct general research and act as a resource for Compliance-related inquiries. Responsible for external audit management with Insurance Councils and GAA. Coordination of filings related to unauthorized insurers. Support the VP Compliance and Legal in responding to Council audits. Contribute to special quarterly and year end reporting. Review regulations across Canada and ensure our internal Procedures are current. Review of e-sites (transactional and non-transactional). Responsible for new hire and on-demand compliance training and education requirements. Plan, design and assign appropriate compliance courses as needed by staff. Maintain staff education completion documentation as appropriate. Keep staff updated through internal communication of regulations and best practices. Carry out periodic evaluation of the compliance Programs and recommend changes and improvements. Develop new compliance and regulatory training material. Work with corporate services on other projects related to Compliance and regulatory issues. Our Ideal Candidate Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry. Licensed broker is an asset. Familiarity with provincial directives, code of conduct and guidelines, is an asset. Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English as the candidate will be required to interact in English with stakeholders (colleagues and clients) outside Quebec. Availability to travel to other offices within the region, as required. Ability to work independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects. Organized and structured, able to manage time and priorities. Able to present in front of small to large groups of people. Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
