Your JobDarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our manufacturing operations in North Vancouver. The successful candidate will do everything and anything necessary to support our manufacturing, product development, and research. This is a hands-on position with a strong focus on electro-mechanical assembly and testing.This is an on-site regular full-time position in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, and moreOur TeamDarkVision produces the world’s most advanced acoustic-based imaging platform for Oil & Gas and industrial asset inspection applications. Our Manufacturing team brings these devices to life by building subcomponents, subassemblies, and final assemblies for our state-of-the-art ultrasound probes. You will have the opportunity to learn many new skills and carry out a variety of unique, hands-on tasks. You will be joining a great team of Manufacturing Technicians who can help guide and train you as you learn the skills needed to excel in this roleWhat You Will DoBuilding Small Stuff - Forming and fabricating piezo-electric transducers, micro-soldering, molding, etc.Building Big Stuff - Building research apparatus such as test platforms, test jigs, and our core productsBreaking Stuff - Carrying out experiments and product validation using test equipment. For example, you’ll break stuff in our heated pressure vessel at 10,000 psi and 200 C and then figure out what went wrongFixing Stuff - Replacing and repairing components, and refurbishing our ultrasonic scanning toolsEnsuring Stuff Works - Our work is highly technical; you should like to learn new technologies while ensuring a high standard of quality in your work.Quality Control - Measurement of incoming parts with reference to drawingsThis position does not have any automation or programming related workWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Experience in product assembly or technical hobbies in mechanics or electronicsSoldering experienceMechanical aptitude - you have hands-on experience in assembling - taking things apart, putting them back together againAbility to read and comprehend mechanical drawings and schematicsAbility to read and comprehend wiring diagramsWhat Will Put You AheadStrong interest in building and tinkering with electronics or mechanics as evidenced by hobbies or previous jobsTechnical certificate or diploma from a technical institute (in manufacturing, mechatronics, electrical, electronics, mechanical, or a similar field)Ability to build components from specAbility to use and understand electronic testing equipment such as multi-metersExperience in QC and measurement of componentsExperience soldering under a microscopeA meticulous, precise, and detail-orientated approachGeneral CompensationFor this role, we anticipate paying $50,000 to $65,000 per year.
