We are currently hiring for a Warehouse Lead Hand in the Mississauga area Full-time Permanent position Keys to position:•Attitude is key• Strong computer skills• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Previous experience receiving in a high sku count environment (working for previous ecommerce OR retail companies is super ideal)• Strong problem solving abilities, and someone who takes initiative to solve the root cause of the problem, and not just band aid solutions • Previous experience using a forklift with strong comfort using equipment such as a counterbalance or reach truck (license NOT required, only an asset)• Availability to work Monday - Saturday 7am-5pm (44 hours/week that will be 5 shifts/week) overtime can be available during high seasons• Previous experience leading/mentoring others through training, coaching of others - does not need DIRECT managerial experience, but someone who shows leadership capabilities. Position: Lead HandWorking hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. plus Saturdays must be available to work between these hoursSalary: $25-$30/hr Company Offers• Medical, dental, vision after 3 months• RRSP matching 2%• 2 weeks of vacation, 4 Wellness Days, Birthdays off• Employee recognition program• Safety shoe allowance Lead Hand will be responsible mainly for Receiving Dept. 3-4 Indirect reports. This person will report to Warehouse Manager. Qualifications:• 5 years’ experience Distribution, 3 years’ in Receiving• Forklift experience and certified on counterbalance• Raymond reach certification would be an asset• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with navigating technology and new platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Excel• Experience with warehouse tools: Intermediate experience with RF scanners, WMS, and ERP systems is preferred.• Proficiency with Netsuite Oracle is considered an asset.• Highschool diploma or equivalency required• Strong organizational skills• Able to multi tasks, working under pressure and working under fast-paced environment• Own car (not relying on public transportation)• Safety shoes• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) Duties & Responsibilities: • Report into Warehouse Manager. Have 3-4 In Direct Reports• Lead all receiving and inventory management duties. This includes offloading freight trucks, examining and documenting incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, and reporting any discrepancies to the Manager or Operations Team.• You'll also be responsible for managing the inventory putaway flow, handling returns, and maintaining accurate inventory records through physical counts and system adjustments.• Partner with the Warehouse Manager to oversee floor operations. This includes directing team members, the ability to flex manpower based on business need, and the ability to maintain consistent workflow in all areas to meet customer service levels.• Champion a safe, efficient, and clean work environment. You will offer guidance and training on safety policies and lean practices. This includes actively maintaining a safe and clean work environment by enforcing 5S principles, keeping all areas neat, actively participating in Joint Health & Safety meetings, and participating in accident investigations.• Maintain general warehouse operations.
