Job Title: Systems Testing/QA Specialist Senior (RQ09607) Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Onsite (provisionally Hybrid 7.25 hours/day, Monday Friday) Contract Duration: 250 Business Days with 125 Business Days Extension Position Overview: Justice Technology Services is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to support the CDT Integrations Project. The successful candidate will lead testing activities across the full product management lifecycle developing test strategies, automation frameworks, regression plans, and user acceptance testing. The specialist will collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure software quality, reliability, and compliance with ministry standards. This role requires deep expertise in test automation (Selenium, JMeter, Python, Java), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Agile testing methodologies within complex public-sector technology environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases/scenarios to validate system functionality and performance. Design and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium, JMeter, Python, or Java. Execute automated and manual test cases, analyze results, and prepare detailed test reports. Plan and conduct stress/load testing, regression testing, and UAT activities. Review and interpret functional and design specifications to ensure complete test coverage. Identify, record, and track defects and issues using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira;lead triage sessions to prioritize and resolve issues. Prepare realistic test data sets and perform backend validation using SQL queries. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and QA teams to align testing activities with project schedules. Supervise manual testing efforts and provide guidance during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions. Document software defects, best practices, lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes. Ensure compliance with organizational QA standards and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams and project leads. Mandatory Requirements: 8+ years of progressive QA experience, including leading QA teams and managing testing for enterprise-scale systems. Proven experience in defect tracking, change management, and cross-functional communication using collaborative tools. In-depth understanding of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Strong hands-on experience developing and executing automation scripts with Selenium, JMeter, Python, or Java. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrated conceptual thinking to integrate QA/testing standards across projects. Desired Skills and Experience: Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, and other test management tools. Strong understanding of API testing, SQL data validation, and backend logic testing. Knowledge of regression, data, and integration testing for enterprise applications. Proficiency in automating tests using Playwright or other modern frameworks. Ability to identify inconsistencies, edge cases, and system-level defects others may overlook. Experience leading and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions. Proven track record of meeting tight testing deadlines while maintaining quality. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience working in Government or Public Sector environments (asset). Evaluation Criteria: Technical Skills (35 points) Writing reusable test cases/scenarios and automated test scripts.
