Help us put Saskatchewan at the forefront of digital health innovation.About the RoleAs an Application Support Analyst at eHealth Saskatchewan, you will support multi-user, mission-critical applications that directly impact patient care. You’ll troubleshoot technology issues, analyze application transactions, and implement upgrades, patches, and new releases for standalone and integrated systems. Working closely with stakeholders, you will ensure stable, efficient system performance and identify opportunities to improve application effectiveness. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting to maintain the reliability of critical healthcare applications.What You’ll DoReporting to the Manager, Laboratory Services, you will: • Investigate technology and application problems, identify the underlying causes, and determine the most appropriate solution options.• Manage system modifications, thoroughly test the changes, and implement them to ensure systems function reliably and effectively.• Provide timely and appropriate assistance to clients, helping to increase their confidence in using the portfolio of systems.• Support clients in using the systems as effective tools for managing statistical reporting information, ensuring accurate and efficient data handling.• Deliver operational support for the Lab Information Systems and associated applications used across the Provincial Laboratories to maintain smooth and uninterrupted service.What You’ll Bring to the Team• Degree in Computer Science or a related field; applicants with a diploma in Computer Information Systems or a related area of study, combined with equivalent experience, may also be considered.• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated application and system support experience within a complex, enterprise-level integrated IT environment.• Comprehensive knowledge of technical support, desktop support, and system administration.• Solid understanding of database concepts, theories, and principles.• Working knowledge of operating systems across a variety of IT devices.• Familiarity with hardware and networks used in Information Technology.• Experience supporting healthcare applications is considered an asset, particularly with integrated systems.• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation to respond to priority emergency (Priority 1) service disruptions after hours.CompetenciesCommunication: Ability to write, create, and communicate technical and non-technical information to a wide variety of audiences in a clear, accurate, and understandable manner. This includes explaining or presenting information to individuals or groups, developing user guides, system documentation, project plans, reports, and other materials, and delivering information effectively in both verbal and written formats.Problem Solving / Analytical: Ability to investigate problems, determine solution options, make required system modifications, test, and implement changes. Skilled in analyzing client requirements and verifying understanding through formal and informal interviews. Capable of gathering, synthesizing, and applying specialized information to meet organizational and client needs within given constraints. Able to diagnose technical problems such as delays, malfunctions, and errors to identify root causes and provide timely solutions, while recognizing and responding to issues and concerns of others.Interpersonal: Ability to build cooperative working relationships with coworkers and clients to ensure credibility and confidence in services provided. Skilled at fostering client knowledge and capacity to effectively use and apply services. Provides excellent customer service through strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Organizational: Ability to independently prioritize and organize workload to meet tight deadlines and successfully complete projects in a changing environment. Skilled at prioritizing issues and incidents to ensure efficient resolution and continued operations.Teamwork / Independence: Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member to meet the needs of clients and coworkers. Demonstrates the ability to build productive, positive work relationships while contributing to team goals.Technical: Ability to test, implement, or adapt existing systems and applications in an integrated environment, taking into account design alternatives, business requirements, Change Management policies, and system constraints.
