Responsibilities include working with provincial governments and local Community Colleges, the candidate will advance the ASEP Apprenticeship program & recruitment strategies to support and strengthen the program. Responsible for supporting the technical training development team through facility support and R&D. Planning & scheduling factory trained technicians including the deployment of technician curriculum. Training Center capacity planning, course deployment and level scheduling are core responsibilities supported by 2 direct reports. Technical aptitude is essential to this role. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal direction. Key ResponsibilitiesGrow ASEP apprenticeship program recruitment through provincial and college relationshipsSupport and advocate ASEP at a National levelRemote Training Center/Instructor IT and facilities supportAssist in Product Service Training development and deploymentInterface cross functionally within the company as requiredU.S Travel required for cross-functional activitiesAny other duties as requiredRequirementsRequired Skills and Experiences:Minimum of 5 years of General Motors Automotive industry experience.Preferred journeyman automotive technician with a valid Red Seal certification Knowledge of the Apprenticeship program (preferably ASEP)Working knowledge of automotive systems, and GM OEM experience preferredDemonstrated ability to work independently of daily supervisionBe good with promotion and can go to a job fair and sell the apprenticeship program, outgoing personalityStrong collaboration, communication and outreach skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPointValid driver’s license as driving a vehicle is an essential function of this positionAble to obtain a valid passport and be able to travel to the U.S.Some overnight travel requiredPreferred qualifications:Journeyman automotive technician with a valid Red Seal certification such as 310S license is preferred.GM Dealership technician experience as an ASEP apprentice is preferred.Bilingual proficiency in French and English is a plus.Education and Training:Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training required.Benefits Extended group insurance including prescription drugs, dental and vision cares RRSP employer match 15 days annual vacation CIeNET offers equal opportunities to people.
