Facilities Manager

We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Residential team in Iqaluit, NU. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the maintenance & cleaning teams in a portfolio of residential buildings. Being the subject matter expert in pest control, mould, and asbestos remediation is a key responsibility of this position, along with ensuring renovation standardization and involvement in Northview's Maintenance Warranty Program. Responsibilities: Provide training, overall guidance & supervision to the maintenance supervisor, maintenance & cleaning teamsWork with the health and safety manager to ensure safe and reliable operation of Northview's facilities Oversees contractors for facility renovation projects including asbestos abatement and mould remediation projects, and provides advice and guidance as necessaryAssist in the maintenance and renovation of facilities if requiredTroubleshoot and manage emergencies outside of regular office hoursPrepare reports on down units and the maintenance warranty programOversee the scheduling and assignments of the traveling renovation crew Assist in developing and implementing maintenance and cleaning policies (including the 48-hour warranty program) and procedures, and ensuring continual compliance within the maintenance & cleaning teamsAssist in the development and implementation of training programs, manuals, and videosWorking with each region to ensure maintenance, caretaking, and other projects are on track for timely completion, minimizing the deferral of projectsPerform inspections of facilities when requestedThrough collaboration with other managers, share best practices related to the operation and maintenance of facilities Assist in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures around renovation standardization and the handling of asbestos, mould, and pest control issuesPrepare and submit reports as requiredOther duties as assigned by the Regional Manager Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license Must be able and willing to travelAble to work independently and is a self-starter A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in positions of increasing responsibility in facilities management, project management, property management, or related fields, preferably in large, multi-family complexesWorking knowledge of work order management systems, with a demonstrated capacity to work with a variety of software platforms to manage operational needsA strategic and operational thinker with a proven track record of accomplishments, outstanding analytical skills, decision-making, and team-building skillsStrong leadership and communication (both written and verbal) skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel) is requiredMust be able to analyze data, including financial and technical, from a variety of sourcesHands-on experience in building maintenance and or renovationsKnowledgeable or willing to be trained in asbestos, mould, and pest control Benefits: Competitive payExtended health care including medical, dental, and vision coverageLife insurance, drug coverage, and wellness programsDiscounts on rent at Northview propertiesVacation Travel Assistance for Northern employees If your background matches the qualifications listed above and you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the communities we serve, please submit your resume in confidence. Please note, only those candidates chosen to continue through the selection process will be contacted.
