Job DescriptionWe are looking for a motivated and reliable Non-Ferrous Receiver to join our non-ferrous metals department at our La Prairie site. You will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of our facility. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a strong work ethic.What you will be responsible for:Inspect, sort, and separate different ferrous materials, removing all non-recyclable componentsSafely and efficiently operate a forklift to move materials within the facilityOperate a front loader to safely receive and unload customer materials, including moving materials around the yardAssist in processing metal through cutting, shearing, and shredding equipment to prepare for further processingMaintain accurate inventory and grading records using phones or tabletsFollow all safety guidelines and protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring a safe and efficient work environmentProvide excellent customer service while working with members of the publicQualificationsTo join our team:You have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a laborer or receiver in an industrial environment (an asset)You have experience in metal recycling (an asset)You are in good physical condition and capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditionsYou can handle a fast-paced work environment, adapt to changing priorities, and perform well under pressureYou have 1–2 years of experience operating a forklift (an asset)You are detail-oriented and enjoy repetitive workYou are reliable, responsible, resourceful, punctual, and diligentYou are capable of working in a noisy and dusty environmentYou have knowledge of metals (an asset)You enjoy teamwork and can also work independentlyYou are willing to learn how to operate heavy equipment such as a front loaderYou are conscientious about workplace health and safetyYou are comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (mask, earplugs, helmet, gloves, etc.)
