Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Support Services, The Manager Environmental Services will be responsible for providing ethical leadership in the administration and management of Environmental Services at the Georgetown and Milton Hospitals.The role is responsible for the delivery of Housekeeping, Linen, Transportation and Waste Management services in keeping with safe work practices and infection prevention and control standards. The Manager will establish and implement effective working relationships with all Halton Healthcare Managers and will provide leadership and support to the team leaders for the day-to-day operations of the department.As a core member of the Environmental Services management team, the successful candidate will provide leadership in developing, maintaining and monitoring of corporate environmental services standards. And will ensure that all standards are in keeping with best practice guidelines (PIDAC), appropriate legislation (TDG, Waste Management Reg 347) and budget parameters.The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in safety, risk management and quality improvement initiatives to meet hospital and healthcare standards. Will provide input into the preparation, administration and control of the Environmental Services budget and will actively participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees, Shared Services West and others.QualificationsPost-Secondary education such as College Diploma in Business Administration or other related field-mandatoryMinimum of 5 years' supervisory or management experienceProfessional Healthcare Housekeeper's Certificate (PHH) preferredTransportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification preferredUnderstanding of PIDAC, Workplace Safety and occupational Health and Safety ActExperience managing a large workforce in a unionized environmentProven planning, organizational, leadership and communication skills.Experienced in working in partnership with vendors, distributors, staff and management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, inspire and facilitate teamwork.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and call center software systems preferredSafety Training is an assetExperienced in developing and maintaining capital and operating budgetsSatisfactory employment and attendance recordAdditional InformationHours: Monday to Friday - hour day shifts; 0800 - 1600 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)Salary: $ to $Date posted: November 21, 2025Internal applications due by: November 28, 2025REF2914J
