Queen's Landing Hotels is seeking a Laundry Manager The Laundry Manager manages the laundry department by ensuring all laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.Position Summary: Manages the laundry department by ensuring all laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.Duties and Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunityEnsures all laundry items are clean and maintained in good operating order in cooperation with the Corporate Laundry Manager and General ManagerManages Laundry Team Members to ensure duties are performed consistent with standard operating proceduresAccurately forecast laundry needs for Lais Hotel Properties based on business levelsPerforms the human resource function related to recruitment, training, coaching, development etc.Monitors laundering on regular basis to ensure all items are clean according to standardsChecks to ensure that all equipment is operating and if not, reports to maintenance to repair or replace if requiredCreates Team Member schedules, reports payroll hours, addresses Team Member concerns, etc.Prepare, conduct and follow through with monthly laundry inventoryEnsure items to be ironed are put into automatic presser machineCount, sort and check laundry items to ensure proper inventory of all itemsPerform routine spot checks on all items for damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discardsLogging information for count, damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discarded itemsMonitors all machines and reports any machine breakdowns to the Maintenance departmentHaving a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and servicesRetrieve, sort and load soiled laundry into washing machinesLoad clean laundry into the dryersSort and folds laundry when dryFill Duty Manager shifts when requiredAll other duties as assignedProfessional Requirements:Computer skills an asset3-5 years hospitality industry through experience or courses requiredPrevious up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an assetMust have a clean driver’s abstract in order to operate company vehiclePersonal Attributes:Excellent organizational, communication and time management skillsHospitality background an assetConfidence in selling and up-selling products and servicesPositive sales-oriented personalityDesire to meet goalsEthical and honestPhysical Requirements:Lifting, bending, carrying and standing for prolonged periods of timeWorking in seasonal temperature extremes in Guest rooms and in outside hallways Ability to push, pull, and to lift up to 50 poundsQuestions, quoting the job title and location, may be directed to Lais Hotel Properties Limited is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible workplace where all individuals are valued and respected.
