Salary Details The salary range for this position is CAD $40.83/Hr. - CAD $50.94/Hr. Job Summary Come work as a Cardiac Sonographer at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Cardiac Sonographer to join the Medical Imaging Ultrasound Cardiac team at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our teamAs a Cardiac Sonographer you will:Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of the organization.Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-Dimensional, Doppler, M-Mode, and support TransEsophageal Echo, stress echoes, and contrast procedures while observing patient safety practices.Perform duties including receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data and measurements into the diagnostic imaging information system, and preparing patients for specific procedures.Participate on committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned. Qualifications Education & ExperienceMust be a graduate of a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and be certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course or applicable experience working in IV Therapy or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience when required by site practice.Knowledge & AbilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography.Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic cardiac sonographic equipment.Demonstrated ability to perform sonographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system.Demonstrated knowledge of the aseptic techniques.Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
