We are looking for an experienced senior surveyor who will assess the design, production, and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using procedures, experience and knowledge appropriate for complex / demanding situations. The role may also include managing projects. Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, adhering to defined formats, and meeting deadlines, budget, and quality standards. Discuss and present deliverables with internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary. Perform activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Assess and recommend appropriate time and value for work undertaken for external clients, assisting in determining the most suitable fee and cost structure. Provide guidance to other employees as needed, facilitating effective knowledge transfer and application. Contribute to service delivery improvement by communicating internal and external client feedback as relevant. Undertake routine administration tasks as required, following current processes and procedures. What you bring A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science. The degree program should have been a minimum of two years in duration. Alternatively, qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer will also be considered. Membership in an appropriate professional institution. Working towards or achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status. Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01. The ability to utilize a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology. Capability to apply suitable theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services. Proficiency in technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management. Proficiency in the English language that is suitable for the nature of the work. Preferred but not required Classification Society experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
