Join our innovative and purpose-driven team on the next chapter of our journey to bring RBC’s Reconciliation Action Plan to life.Note: this position is available for remote work and other locations will be considered.What is the opportunity?In this role, you will support the Senior Director, Indigenous Markets Policy in ensuring that policies and procedures are aligned with RBC’s overall strategies, reconciliation commitments, and regulatory requirements. You will maximize shareholder value by optimizing profitability and efficiency through the development and maintenance of superior strategies, processes and policies. You will collaborate closely with the policy lead, risk, operations, and frontline teams to translate community insights and enterprise strategies into actionable policy guidance that supports inclusive and sustainable financial access for Indigenous clients.What will you do?Policy development and management: Lead and support in the development, implementation, and evolution of Indigenous banking policies, procedures, guidelines and tools to ensure they are best-in class. Support compliance requirements with RBC’s risk appetite, enterprise policy frameworks, regulatory (e.g., OSFI), and reconciliation objectives.Stakeholder management: build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Coordinate feedback loops between policy, risk, frontline, and operations teams to surface barriers, implementation challenges, and opportunities for policy enablement or clarification. In partnership with Regional Banking, develop supporting communication plans to stakeholders and gain input/feedback. Champion cross-functional oversight between Regional Banking, Strategy, Product, Group Risk Management, Legal and other key stakeholder groups to ensure RBC policy priorities are embedded in employee learning tools, frontline training, and culturally relevant best practice.Business knowledge/research: understand, leverage and stays up-to-date with business results, operational impact of Indigenous-focused policy changes, best practices, regulatory developments, and external and internal resources applying this knowledge to measure the effectiveness of the policies, identifying policy opportunities, issues and gaps to continuously improve policies and tools to inform enterprise reporting and leadership decision-making. Community Engagement: support engagement efforts with internal and external stakeholders by preparing briefing materials, contributing to policy presentations, and integrating feedback from Indigenous organizations and communities.What do you need to succeed? Must-have:Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Indigenous studies, business, finance, or a related disciplineDemonstrated high performance in Relationship Management and/or experience in policy coordination, financial services with exposure to risk frameworks and cross-functional delivery modelsProven analytical skills to problem-solve and use data to build a story and drive impactStrong understanding of Indigenous communities, governance structures, and economic development, along with a demonstrated commitment to reconciliation and cultural competencyExcellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendationsAbility to work with a team and individually Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively support collaborationNice to have:Experience working directly with Indigenous governmentsCommercial lending or Credit Risk Management experienceAdditional certifications in compliance, policy analysis, or governanceWhat’s in it for you?
